Jared and I went to Victoria for the day on Saturday. It's the capital of the province that we live in, and it's an hour and a half ferry ride over. It was a last minute decision to go, basically decided Friday night and it was Jared's suggestion. And it was exactly what we needed, just to be away and out together. We had an amazing time together and I'm already looking forward to going again and staying maybe for a weekend!! Soon but, I wanted to share some photos!!
On the ferry, don't we look still a little tired?
This is where we had lunch, it's the sister pub to the flying beaver near where we live. It's right on the water and we could watch the float planes land and take off.
And they were feeding the seals right up near the entrance to the pub, it was pretty cool to watch. The seal was jumping up for the fish.
After lunch we walked all around downtown Victoria, exploring and taking everything in. This is the Empress Hotel. It's an absolutely amazing building. The Queen has stayed there. We've decided that we'll go there one day and stay overnight for our anniversary.
These double decker buses are always parked out in front. Makes you feel like you're in London.
And a picture of us in the gardens at the Empress hotel.
Me in front of an old truck, in front of the Empress hotel. It's for the celebration of Butchart Gardens celebrating over 100 years. It was super cute!!
And we walked around looking for antique stores, because I am looking for a ceratin tea cup...it's a long story but instead we found CUPCAKES!! I was so excited!! Jared got a lemon cupcake and I got a Dessert at Tiffany's cupcake...they were delicious!!
We walked around more at stopped to look at some totem poles and a house. Very cool!!
My hubby :)
And we got some photos in front of the parliament where all the fabulous politicians meet in our province.
And this is a statue of Queen Victoria in front of the parliament building.
And a view from Parliament of downtown Victoria.
We both LOVED it and cannot wait to go back. Still trying to decide if I will make a mini or scrappy pages. We shall see.
So, this is my last week off before school starts again next Tuesday. I cannot believe how fast the summer flew by. It was a good summer. I will be enjoying my las week of freedom before it's back to reality next week. I'll be back with lots more stuff to share!! Have a good week!!
